The Library of the town of Police nad Metují is a public library that provides all basic and some other services according to the law. You can find it on the square of Police nad Metují in the building of Pelly's houses. The mission of the library is to be a cultural and educational centre of the community, to cooperate with other non-profit organizations, school and associations in the town so as to promote the development of reading and interest in books among the public. To this end, the library builds its library collection according to its purpose and the needs of its users and then makes it available to the public. Library and information services, as defined by law, are provided to all citizens without distinction, thus guaranteeing everyone's right to information. The library is registered in the register of libraries under number 2457 and is part of the system of libraries carrying out information, cultural and educational activities.
